Well here we are, two years after the official birth of DEADBEATFRIENDS. I'm not going to lie, it's been a treacherous journey. From stubborn bands to disreputable venues, we've had a lot to endure. There were some months in between where we took breaks to regroup and finally, after this past summer, I had a sudden brainstorm and everything became so clear to me. When I started LTL back in 2003, it wasn't for me. It had always been about the music, the bands and the fans. People who truly love music because it means something to them, not just because it's the latest trend.
Man Overboard is one of the first of many bands lately to fully grasp this concept and do something about it, coming out first with a website, Defend Pop Punk, to keep the true fans updated with the latest album releases and shows of not only their close friends, but truly talented pop punk bands. Following this, MOB launched Lost Tape Collective, their very own record label featuring releases (7"s, CDs & Tapes) and merchandise from upcoming bands such as True Things (ex-members of I Call Fives and Front Page), Basement (from the UK), AYS and Smile & Burn (both from Germany), and History (members of Man Overboard and Bearings). Every member of MOB is incredibly talented and I'm truly grateful of having the pleasure to know them. The progress they have made in the last two years alone has been truly inspiration to myself and to DEADBEADFRIENDS as a company. So thanks, guys.
As for DBF, we are coming back with full force this November. With the addition of Dave Schaefer (singer of Sink or Swim), the DBF family is finally complete. Over the next few months, we will be in and out of the studio with Nik Bruzzese (Man Overboard, Small Hill Studios), working with various bands. By the end of 2010 we will have t-shirts available for pre-order in our new Merch Store, along with previews of two upcoming album releases, due out Spring 2011. There are big things in store for DBF, so keep checking back and we will definitely keep you updated.

Fig's first post.
Also, everyone should listen to Two Tongues if you're not like me and haven't had their 2 tracks on repeat for the past 6 months. =]
Happy Holidays!

First post.
I have no voice whatsoever and my throat is beyond raw. I guess having one of these blogs really does come in handy, even if no one ever reads this. Fig ordered the pre-sale tickets today for The Wonder Years show on January 17th, 2009. So once they come in, you can get yours from me or Fig or any of the bands on the show. This coming Sunday starts the first day of recording for the first ever DBF! Sampler. We'll be in Philly recording some live tracks with Rushmore. On Tuesday, I'll be going into the studio with The Winter Sparrow while they start recording their new stuff at Small Hill Studios, and then next Sunday I'll be with them again while they record their live tracks. All in all, it's a hectic time of year without all of this other stuff going on, so I'll try to update as much as I can, just bear with me.
